Our regular Summer (term 4 & term 1) Saturday junior comp will recommence in October (registrations close Sept) – Grading date to be advised.
For Term 3 2020 we will be offering a short format Saturday junior comp, but due to restrictions on courts numbers etc, we unfortunately have to limit our entries to existing Term 2 or 2019 summer junior comp players. There will be no new players able to enter as we will not be holding a grading day. Our apologies for the inconvenience, we look forward to resuming our normal competition in Term 4.
Single entries are not accepted into the junior comp (only TEAM entries – min 2 players). Existing players in the current season comp who require a new partner for the next comp should notify your coach & the HDTA Administration office email: firstname.lastname@example.org
New players to the comp looking for a partner MUST attend grading. We cannot guarantee a partner will be found, but we will do our best. If no partner is found, you will have the option to be added to the POOL list of reserve players.
We currently have one of the largest and well graded Junior competitions in Sydney and the Hills District with over 400 players competing each week.
We organise two seasonal competitions throughout the year for boys and girls.
The Summer competition commences from Term 4 (mid October) and runs through until the end of Term 1. ( April School holidays)
The Winter competition commences from Term 2 (after April school holidays) and runs through until end of Term 3. (Sept school holidays)
The competition is held every Saturday morning during school terms (no play school holidays) . Lower graded divisions play 8am-10am and higher grades play from 10am-12noon. Format is 2 boys or 2 girls per team with each player playing 2 sets of doubles and 1 set of singles. Players are also seeded in each team.
If you have missed out on the current competition there is still an opportunity to participate by being on the “pool” reserve list – contact the office at email@example.com for further information
The Boys and Girls competition format is as follows:
Short deuces – receiver elects the side on which they are to receive serve
Tie breakers at “5 all”
To fit all of this tennis into this compact time you will need to start play right on time which means turning up at the court at 7.45am for an 8 am start and 9.45am for a 10am start.
In the past, most teams have preferred to have an extra player in their team to cover for illness and holidays etc, we would highly recommend this. For those of you who want as much tennis as you can get and only have 2 players, that is also fine. Should there be more than 2 players in a team it is expected that every player will have equal play during the season. We also have a “pool” list of reserves who have been graded to play if required.
HDTA Competition, Squad & Thursday night/Sunday afternoon social players must be current registered members of Tennis NSW and Hills District Tennis Association. HDTA membership is included as part of your registration fees. You should NOT complete a separate membership form.
General Court Hirers (not enrolling in comp or social) should contact the office for membership details.Join Today
